Frequently Asked Questions
I’m having trouble registering or logging into the OCR Trial.
Please make sure that your browser settings allow cookies (find out more about our cookies policy here) and JavaScript is enabled. This can often resolve login and registration issues. If the problem persists, trying a different browser or device may help. If issues continue, please don’t hesitate to report them to us.
Which file formats are supported?
The following file formats are supported:
.bmp, .jpeg, .jpg, .jp2, .j2k, .pdf*, .png, .pbm, .pgm, .ppm, .pnm, .tif, and .tiff
* Note: The OCR Trial produces .pdfs at 150dpi. For customizable settings, our full IDA version offers more flexibility. The OCR Trial currently does not support PDF/A-1 files. The full IDA version supports all PDF conformance levels.
How many pages can I process with the free OCR Trial?
The free OCR Trial allows processing for up to 100 pages. Please keep in mind that the Trial version will only process the first five pages of your document.
I’ve reached my page processing limit. What should I do to process more pages?
The free OCR Trial allows processing for up to 100 pages and will handle the first five pages of your document. If you wish to process more pages, please contact us.
What should I do if the OCR Trial isn’t processing my documents?
Please ensure that your document’s file format is supported by the OCR Trial (see question 2) and that you have not exceeded your page limit (see question 3). Also note that the OCR Trial runs into a server time-out if a document takes longer than 3 minutes to process. If your document fails to process correctly, please report an issue.
Why are the word boxes and/or the text layer in my resulting PDF shifted or askew?
This can occur due to browser settings. Please check if your browser zoom is set to 100%. If the problem persists, please report an issue.
